Shramko Oleg, photoartist, after having worked for five years as a photo reporter in different newspapers as well as information agencies and being quite successful in this field (his photographs had been purchased by the UNIAN, ASSOCIATED PRESS), has suddenly quitted his job as a reporter and disappeared for three years.
Recently he has again attracted everybody’s attention to himself by participating in a number of photoexhibitions and presenting his brand new works. The artworks are executed in an unusual manner. The only thing connecting them with the previous artworks is striving for travelling and adventure.
Oleg was born in a small military town, Kapustin Yar, known as the first rocket testing area and starting point of the most space projects in the Soviet Union. Photography became his hobby as he was a child and he had studied the basics from his father.
After moving to Ukraine, the native land of his father, Oleg became interested in its history and nature. Together with a group of historians and collectors he created a calendar dedicated to the Tripol culture. He traveled through the whole country taking pictures of many places connected with the history and culture of the Ukrainian people.
Lately he’s been captivated by the Venice masquerades, as well as of the ancient myths which pass from one culture to another.
